Project Manager, SOGI 123

Reporting to the Director, National Programs, the Project Manager, SOGI 123 will manage the implementation of grant-funded projects nationally.

ABOUT ARC FOUNDATION

ARC Foundation was founded in 2007 to build Awareness, Respect and Capacity through SOGI-inclusive K-12 education. ARC Foundation’s vision is a world where children and youth of all sexual orientations and gender identities live authentic lives. ARC Foundation is the registered charity behind SOGI 123, an inclusive education program that equips educators with tools and resources for supporting 2SLGBTQ+ students and creating safer and more inclusive school environments for all students. ARC facilitates the delivery of SOGI 123 in BC, the Yukon, the prairies, and Atlantic Canada.

MAIN FUNCTIONS

The Project Manager, SOGI 123 will lead the implementation of a defined set of SOGI 123 projects nationally with a focus on community engagement and consultation on the delivery of SOGI 123, and SOGI-inclusive inclusive education, in various political and social climates. The Project Manager will work closely with the broader ARC Foundation team to support functions such as adhering to project deadlines, communications, evaluation, and reporting.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Work with the Director, National Programs to manage the implementation of grant-funded SOGI 123 projects.

  • Track the project delivery workplan and monitor to ensure timelines are met.

  • Work closely with the Program team that will be delivering the majority of the project activities, including community engagement and resource creation.

  • Assist with communications, scheduling meetings and dialogue circles, prepare agendas, and disseminate meeting minutes.

  • Monitor and evaluate the project budget, ensuring that all funding guidelines, requirements and restrictions are adhered to.

  • Manage external contractors, such as translators and subject matter experts, to support completion of project outcomes.

  • Oversee and support the project evaluation process, including data collection, analysis and reports.

  • Work with the Director, National Programs to lead project meetings with the staff team to regularly track progress of the projects.

  • Liaise with funding officers to ensure that any changes to project timelines or deliverables or communicated clearly and approved before execution.

  • Schedule, promote, and provide tech support for virtual roundtables and webinars/trainings for a national audience.

  • Work alongside ARC Foundation team members to maintain strong relationships with education and 2SLGBTQ+ community organizations, including attending conferences and events to represent SOGI 123 as needed.

  • Other duties as required.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with at least five years’ experience in Project Management, ideally in a not-for-profit environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Exceptional project management skills with demonstrated experience leading complex projects.

  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships with senior level leaders.

  • A collaborative style which values connecting people in the community and within organizations.

  • Ability to effectively work collaboratively as well as independently though virtual platforms with a remote team of staff and volunteers.

  • Knowledgeable about data collection, analysis, and reporting.

  • Familiar with budgets and financial tracking.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and effectively to various audiences.

  • A strong interest in creating systemic change to support students of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

  • Knowledge of the K-12 education system and 2SLGBTQ+ communities an asset.

  • Fluency or working understanding of French an asset.

  • Project Manager Professional certification an asset.

THE FINER DETAILS

  • This is a 20 hours/per week 27-month term contract ending March 31, 2027. We are simultaneously hiring for a part time SOGI Lead - Intercultural Dialogues. Interested and qualified applicants are welcome to apply for both roles to create a full-time position.

  • Flexible work environment: work from a remote location anywhere in Canada.

  • Must be willing to travel nationally, as required.

  • Expected start is by mid-January 2025 or earlier where feasible

This position is designed to be 20 hours per week. While some duties will require availability at specific times during the work week, and different times of the year may have higher and lower demand periods, flexibility of work hours and approach are negotiable.
