SOGI 123 Program Assistant

ARC Foundation is looking to fill a 30 hours/week 10-week contract position. This is a Canada Summer Jobs funded position. Applicants must be between the ages of 15-30. Reporting to the Regional Program Manager, the SOGI 123 Program Assistant will focus on evaluation and reporting for SOGI 123.

ABOUT ARC FOUNDATION

ARC Foundation was founded in 2007 to build Awareness, Respect and Capacity through K-12 education. ARC Foundation’s vision is a world where children and youth of all sexual orientations and gender identities live authentic lives. ARC Foundation is the registered charity behind SOGI 123, an inclusive education program that equips educators with tools and resources for supporting 2SLGBTQ+ students and creating safer and more inclusive school environments for all students. ARC facilitates the delivery of SOGI 123 in BC, Alberta, the Yukon, and Atlantic Canada and is working to further expand its services to other regions.

MAIN FUNCTIONS

The SOGI 123 Program Assistant will support the implementation of key SOGI 123 projects as assigned by the Regional Program Manager. This is an operational role that will focus on evaluation, reporting, and planning support for SOGI 123. The SOGI 123 Program Assistant will work closely with the SOGI 123 program team as well as the broader ARC Foundation national team.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Work with the Alberta, BC, and Yukon SOGI Leads to support the analysis of end of year educator survey data

  • Support the evaluation and reporting process for each SOGI Educator Network:

    • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of survey results to identify themes and trends

    • Assist in documenting key messaging

    • Assist in final proof-reading and formatting of final reports

  • Assist in the development and distribution of funder reports

  • Perform project administration duties, including scheduling meetings and taking meeting notes

  • Maintain a project plan and monitor progress of agreed objectives

  • Communicate regularly and provide progress reports to program seam members

  • Support communications planning and formatting of resources to be distributed

  • Support the team and/or lead with additional administrative tasks, projects, initiatives, or other duties as they arise.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Must be between the ages of 15 and 30 to satisfy Canada Summer Jobs funding requirements

  • Have great attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

  • Possess excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

  • Proven ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality handling sensitive information and materials

  • Comfortable using MS Office such as Teams, OneNote, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, as well as Apple products and software.

  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills

    Utilize a collaborative approach with ability to build strong working relationships with team members

  • Ability to work remotely, as needed

  • An interest in creating systemic change to support students of all sexual orientations and gender identities; preference may be given to those with lived experience within the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

THE FINER DETAILS

  • Position Type: 30 hours/week 10-week contract position, ideally starting the first week of June.

  • Location: ARC Foundation Office, in Vancouver, BC or reporting remotely from elsewhere in Canada

  • Reports to: Regional Program Manager

  • Compensation Range: $27.05 per hour

  • Application Deadline: April 30th, and on a rolling basis until the position is filled

NOTE: Some duties will require availability at specific times during the work week, and different times of the year may have higher and lower demand periods. Flexibility of work hours and approach are negotiable.
