ARC Foundation Welcomes Jag Bilkhu, Arleen Chuang, and Brandi Rai to Board of Directors
VANCOUVER, B.C. — ARC Foundation (ARC) is pleased to announce three new appointments to its Board of Directors, including Jag Bilkhu, Arleen Chuang, and Brandi Rai. These new appointments bring the total number of Directors to eight, each bringing their own unique experiences and expertise to support the achievement of ARC’s strategic objectives.
“ARC Foundation and SOGI 1 2 3 are growing; teachers and students are keen on welcoming the resources and networks that SOGI 1 2 3 brings,” stated Scott Graham, Board Chair of ARC Foundation. “We are thrilled to have three strong new additions to our Board of Directors and are grateful for their enthusiasm to share their time and talents to support ARC’s work to make schools safer and more welcoming for students.”
Jag is a Sustainability Consultant with 25 years’ experience in environmental management and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). His recent experience includes working with a wide variety of stakeholders and First Nations in British Columbia. Jag has a passion for building and giving back to the community. He has served the 2SLGBTQ+ community including Board roles with Health Initiative for Men (HIM), Vancouver Frontrunners, and the Vancouver Pride Run & Walk organizing committee.
Arleen has been a residential realtor for over a decade, proudly working at a boutique firm in Vancouver, British Columbia. She is a philanthropist and is passionate about the issues of food insecurity, poverty, environmentalism, and human rights. Arleen has an academic background in educational administration, policy, and student recruitment.
Brandi is a parent of five children, and it is her adventures in parenting that have led her to be an advocate. Parenting children with a range of neurodiversity, a spectrum of gender and relationship identities, and multicultural origins has been the motivation for her to create inclusive spaces for all youth. She has long volunteered in school communities, including serving on the Board of Directors for the Alberta School Councils’ Association, and on the Youth and Family Advisory Council for CASA in Edmonton.
“As ARC Foundation expands its SOGI 1 2 3 program tools, resources and geographies we work in,” noted Reg Krake, Executive Director of ARC Foundation, “so too our Board is evolving to add capacity and increase the perspectives and voices to help shape the future of the organization. I am excited to work with Arleen, Brandi and Jag, along with the rest of the Board, to continue our successful growth and build on our reputation to deliver consistent support and capacity building for SOGI-inclusive education.”
ARC’s volunteer Board of Directors provides counsel, guidance and operational, financial and strategic oversight to the organization.
