Dr. Robert Quartermain Retires from ARC Foundation’s Board of Directors
ARC Foundation (ARC) wishes to announce that Dr. Robert Quartermain has retired from the Board of Directors at last week’s Annual General Meeting. Dr. Quartermain was the Founding Trustee of ARC Foundation in 2007 and has been the organization’s largest personal donor over the last seventeen years.
Dr. Quartermain remarked, “It has been a privilege to be associated with ARC Foundation, and a source of great personal satisfaction to witness its evolution through the dedication of many volunteers, staff, and supporters. SOGI 123, which started as a small pilot project in Delta, B.C., now provides important resources for educators and parents in support of 2SLGBTQ+ students in regions across Canada. I retire from ARC with the strong leadership of Scott Graham as Chair and Reg Krake as Executive Director in continuing to deliver ARC’s commitment to the 2SLGBTQ+ community.”
“On behalf of the entire ARC Foundation team, I’d like to express my appreciation for the many investments – time, financial and in-kind contributions, and leadership – Dr. Quartermain has made to create lasting change within the K-12 education system through SOGI 123,” shared Reg Krake, Executive Director of ARC Foundation. “SOGI 123 has seen remarkable growth in recent years, creating networks of support for educators to ensure students of all sexual orientations and gender identities feel safe, accepted, respected, and welcome.”
Dr. Quartermain has been appointed as an Advisor to ARC and will continue his financial support of ARC Foundation in support of SOGI 123. In retiring from the ARC Board, Dr. Quartermain will now focus his efforts in support of SOGI UBC, SOGI UNB, and 2SLGBTQ+ International Advocacy organizations in the 62 countries which criminalize sexual diversity. Dr. Quartermain will also continue his support for the Quartermain Earth Science Center and Earth Science Scholarships at UNB, as well as for Panthera.org and IOTA.com.
